The family went to mimi and papas for four days last week (Sunday-Weds). I worked on putting in a patio in their backyard. The boys and mom went to visit Joyce and Dave on Monday they had a good visit while I was slaving away. Ang was able to help out Joyce and her arm while the boys ran around like mad men. Ang also went shopping on Tuesday and Wednesday for the boys and school stuff. She seemed to like shopping by herself and the boys had fun with mimi and papa. B and Jax were very good helpers for me, they would steal my tools and hit things that I did not want them to, or B would pick up bricks and throw them at me or right next to me. That was very helpful. Papa asked Jax to help him clean up some of the slag along the perimeter of the patio and Jax was very serious and did a good job for a couple of minutes, then he decided to do what he wanted a couple minutes later. We left and there was a ton of planes in the sky (usually we only see one or two) but Jax and B were both sleeping by the time we drove by the airport.
Ang and I went to, as Cade called him, Crazy Ronnie’s wedding. It was really hot but it was still a nice time. Jeff told me that one of the bridesmaid’s commented on Jeff’s nice calves. She then went onto ask him if he was a runner. I about wet myself when he told me that. He just looked at the girl and said have you looked at me?
We stopped at Cousin Ian’s birthday party on the way down, he was happy to see Ang and it was good to see them before they leave for Colorado. Poppi was there and he was happy to see us and the rest of his family.
Brady has had some bad boogers the last couple of days, I think that it is part allergies and part cold. He is doing a ton of blowing his nose when there is not a tissue close to him. He still gives a real dirty look when he does it and it makes me laugh every time. Sarah stopped by to drop off some diapers and formula for Ang’s first day of watching Harrison. Brady seemed to like them at first but I think that he is going to be jealous of the new baby. He kept on trying to sit on Ang’s lap while she was holding him and was throwing his blanket at him and Ang. Hopefully he will learn his new role and be content with the new baby in the house.
Jax has had a couple funny things the last couple of weeks. Today Ang asked him what glasses she should buy and he kept on saying that the weed-wacker likes this one or that one. I have finally had enough of his leaf blowing, weed-wacking, lawn mowing, edging, and car driving. He seems to get louder and louder by the day with it and it drives me nuts. It is not helping that B starts to do it when Jax does and tries to be louder than Jax. I think that they have a secret competition of who can be louder.
Last week Jax told me that he wanted to go to the “ I B D E” when I asked him what he wanted to do. Ang and I both started to laugh and Jax had a huge smile on his face. It is funny how he is learning and trying new things on a daily basis. He also told me last week that he does not like when I spell things out. He knows that I am talking about him and he does not like it. He told me to stop that and he does not like it. Ang and I both started to laugh at that one as well.
The last big thing is that we are going to try and sell our house. There are some really nice houses that need a little work here and there that are dirt cheap. If it is supposed to happen then God will make it happen and we will move elsewhere. God has always opened doors for us that has directed us to where we need to go. There is no reason that he wont do it this time.

"I'm very far away"

We have had quite a funny Friday. Jax and Brady have been plotting against us this afternoon. Hard to think that someone with a cute picture this like this could be a stinker.
While I was cooking pizza for their lunch B thought that it would be a good idea to take the humidifier that was in his room and dump it out on his floor. I looked in his room and I did not see wet carpet so I assumed that there was not much water in the humidifier, well I was wrong. After I picked up the humidifier, I followed B into the living room and he pointed out his socks to me and they were soaking wet. I rexamined the room and there is a huge wet spot by his gate.
Jackson went pee today and his shorts ended up IN the toilet. He never told us how it happened, but he said it was an accident. He was put in timeout because he was not listening and answering our questions. Brady was making faces at him most of the time he was on the couch, and he figured he should be in trouble too. I asked B to finish his lunch and he decided that this was a good time for him to get into trouble. He ran into the living room and threw his pizza onto the couch. He was walking toward the couch where Jax was but got really mad when I made him stand in the corner. He stood in the corner and frowned while he tried to cover his face with his hands. After his timeout was over he ran over to Jax and wanted to play with him and was mad that he couldn't.
After lunch, it was knap time. Both Jax and B tried to yell so they would not have to go, they even started to talk to and mimic each other through their walls. Brady ended up getting a bottle and that helped him to sleep, but Jax was more persistent. Jax was yelling so Ang went in his room to tell him to go to sleep. She walked in and he was not in his bed, she asked where he was and he said from underneath his bed "I am very far away." Ang got him out from under the bed and put him back in his bed. After B finally fell asleep Jax once again was asking for something in his room. Ang was going to yell at him to go to sleep, but he changed her mind. She opened the door and did not see him again. She was about to ask where he was, when he popped out from behind the door he said that he needed a tissue in a silly voice. After he blew his nose he finally went to sleep.
Jax has also learned a new phrase. Ang felt a little rough this morning and Jax asked her if she was frustrated? We both laughed and Ang said that she was not frustrated but that she did not feel well. Jax used this new phrase to try to stay awake as well, he said that he could not take a knap because he was frustrated.

Hayford Reunion and the Pelc's
This was a pretty uneventful week for us at the Diemer household. We painted the living room on Thursday night. We took the red out and painted it the same color as the ceiling, I think that it is called 'Sand.' It looks tan to me but I can not see color's very well.
We went to the Hayford family reunion yesterday and it took forever to get there. There is not a direct route to Adrian and there was construction that slowed us down as well. The turn out for the reunion gets smaller and smaller ever year. It was good to see Poppi and Ang's cousins. Baby Molly and Ian are cute and seemed to like the boys and watching them run around. We went and saw Joyce afterwards and she seemed to appreciate that. Ang did some cleaning while Dave and I played with the boys. The boys were able to help Grampy feed the dogs and the boys also went for a walk with Daisy.
Dave and Sarah Pelc came over on Friday and the boys had a blast. We got to eat dinner with them and have some adult conversation which was nice for a change. We went to the fountain after dinner and got some desert as well. The boys chose suckers over ice cream or fudge. Dave and Sarah seemed shocked at times watching the boys play and how active they were. They got to see a bath and the craziness that goes with that. This year Brady was glued to Sarah's hip like Jackson was last year. Jackson had fun with Sarah but he seemed more interested in being a boy with Dad and Dave. Jax warmed up to Dave pretty quick as soon as Dave got the balloons off the ceiling numerous times.
The boys have had the sniffles the last couple days and hopefully that will end soon. They took late naps so they stayed up later. I took advantage of the cooler weather and cut the grass. I had good helpers while they followed me most of the time. In the backyard they were playing kick with Ang while I was mowing. It makes the job a little less monotonous seeing them having fun.

Church and others
We made it church yesterday and it was refreshing to go. The boys had a pretty time in the different classrooms. Brady latched on to a guy worker while Jackson had fun dancing and playing basketball. THe church is alright in my book because they have a fantasy football league. After church the boys got pizza buffett for their good behavior. I of course ate way too much pizza which messed up my biggest loser competition for the week. Actually that meal and vacation did not do me much good. I still lost but not as much as I hoped.
After we came home and took naps, we walked to the fountain uptown. The boys had a blast playing around the fountain, but they liked their suckers better. Brady ended up getting the stick so wet that it broke off leaving only the sucker without a stick in his mouth. He told us about it and we threw it away for him. Jackson managed to eat the whole thing without making too much of a mess. He usually is a neat boy.
Jackson made his first potty accident at Borders today. He was playing with the Thomas trains and I noticed that he was tapping his foot in some water. It took me a second but I realized what he was doing. Ang ran and got his clothes changed while I stayed to flag a worker down to bring a mop. THe worker was nice and said that it happens all the time. I was holding B and he was not happy that he could not play with the trains. I dont blame him Thomas is awesome.
Tonight while Ang was cleaning out the van, Bradys managed to fall face first out of the van. He did not cry even while Ang was checking for blood or large bumps. About an hour later he was jumping onto his couch and nailed his head again on the foot rest for the chair in the living room. He moaned a little but did not cry. I think that he is going to have a lumpy head once he reaches adulthood.

Saugatuck Vacation
Day One
We got a late start today but we still made good time. We ended up getting here around 6 after stopping at BK for a bight to eat. The whole trip, Jackson asked how much longer till we get to the beach. Both boys were really excited in the car; we talked the whole ride about tractors, the beach, earth movers… We saw some construction on 94 at 131. I told Jackson that Bob the Builder was there because he has the DVD about road building, he grinned from ear to ear for a couple miles.
The camper is nice, we keep on telling Jackson that everything at the beach is smaller. The bathroom, the t.v. the kitchen, the microwave… We went to the beach right away. It is a nice little lake with a small beach area. It is about perfect size for the boys. No one was there so we got the whole thing to ourselves. They had to take a shower tonight and they did not like it much. It did not help that it was cold, I took a shower to and it was taking my breath away. We are going to meet Jen, Matt, and Isaac tomorrow at Oval Beach. I will let you tomorrow how it goes…
Day Two
After going to bed late and getting up at the usual 7:00ish time, I thought that we were going to be up the creek. The boys had their moments of tiredness, but they behaved great for the most part. We met Isaac, Uncle Matt, and Aunt Jenn at Oval Beach. We did not have cell phone service so it was hard to find them. Matt said that he ran by us at the beach and never saw us. We accidently left our van doors open and he thought it was a code for something. Ang spotted Matt running up the stairs so Brady and I went to meet him. They were glad to see us and we were glad to see them. We had a blast at the beach together. There was lots of castle building, cement making, and throwing in the air for all the boys involved. At different parts of the day we got to see Ike’s and Jackson’s peaches while they were playing in the water. Brady and Uncle Matt were able to bond some more at the beach. Matt was burying Brady’s feet in the sand and that was fun for half an hour for him.
By the time that we made it out of the parking lot of the beach and almost to the main street, Brady was out. He did not get a knap and was short some sleep from the night before. Jackson fell asleep in the car while I was getting groceries for dinner and a snack. They liked eating Taco’s for dinner. They seem to like the small quarters. Jackson slept with Ang at night and Brady slept with me on the floor in the living room. We broke them up because the night before they were trying to keep each other awake and then wake each other up if the other did fall asleep. They slept through a big storm that had the camper shaking. It was cute sleeping next to Brady and seeing him roll around, and groan while he slept.
Day Three
We started off the morning without water; a plumber was putting in a new water line to a camper a couple lots over. Once the water was turned back on we were able to get cleaned up and head to Holland for the day. Ang and I were both amazed at how nice Holland was and I was amazed at how many people had blond hair. Our digital camera broke the day before so we stopped at a couple stores to find a new one. We ended up getting a new Fuji camera from Circuit City and it works great. I asked the clerk for directions to Tunnel Beach and no one could tell me how to get there so they mapquested it for me. The beach turned out to be a blast.
While walking through the tunnel, Jackson kept on saying that Thomas was going to drive through the tunnel, he also said that the rest of the day as well. There was a high tide but the boys did not mind. I enjoyed being able to play in the high waves and the boys liked watching me. Brady went out a couple of times with me and had a great time. Jackson spent a lot of time building castles with cement and dumping sand on dad and mom. There was a family of five with two little boys and a tiny girl. That had some big shovels that Brady kept his eye on. He stood next to them for about 5 minutes and kept on pointing and saying please. He finally realized that he was not going to get them and gave up.
Day Four
Jackson had a belly ache all night and we almost went home because of it. I had called Mimi and told them to wait and see if we were going to stay or not, once he did his business he felt better. The boys went to the park in the campgrounds while mom got a shower and did some cleaning. After the park, we went for a drive so the boys would sleep while we waited for them. The camper was too small for the boys to be able to knap in so they would usually knap in the car on the way home from the beach.
Mimi and Papa came up and the boys were really, really excited. Once they got at the camp grounds we went to the little beach, as Jackson called it, and the boys had a blast. Brady was brave and would go in the deep water with me and practice swimming back to shore. As soon as he would hit the shore he would want to go right back out and swim back in.
We went out to dinner in downtown Saugatuck and walked around afterwards. Jackson got a sucker while the rest of us got ice cream. We expected Brady to eat his ice cream and be happy but he wanted a sucker like his big brother. It was not a big deal but the special Saugatuck writing on it made it cost five bucks! The boys licked the suckers for a couple minutes and Jackson dropped his. Luckily Papa went and rinsed it off for him. They did not even come close to finishing them and we saved them for the next day but we forgot to give them to the boys before we left the next day.
Day Five
Once we got the camper cleaned up and all of the adults cleaned up we headed out to Oval Beach for the last time. We stopped at a restaurant downtown and had lunch on the way to the beach. We all knew Brady was tired but lunch showed us how tired he was. He would not eat or sit still. I ended up walking around with him after I ate my salad. We looked at the boats and the wa wa. He liked that but would start crying every couple minutes. We went to the beach not knowing how he was going to act. He was fine for a little bit but he was just too tired. While Ang and I were in the water, we could see Brady having a fit because he was tired. He stomped around a little bit then fell face first into the sand. Luckily he fell into his hat so he only had a little bit of sand in his face. He fell asleep on the spot and slept for a good hour and a half. Papa moved him and woke him up a couple minutes into his knap; Papa ended up moving B onto a blanket and rubbed his back to get him back to sleep. I dug a little trench to keep the tide from getting him and it turned out to be a nice seat for me to sit in and watch the water. He woke up and was out of it but he was refreshed and ready to go. We stayed for a little bit longer and then it was time to go home.
Jackson had fun showering off his legs and head at the showers while Brady tried his best to like it because his brother did. We stripped the boys and put them into some nice clean clothes and headed home. We got to see a big John Deere Farm Tractor, many small tractors, and a huge lot of used heavy equipment machinery. Jackson talked about that for hours. Neither boy slept on the way home but both were happy to get bathes and go to sleep once we got home.
We look forward to doing it again next year!!!! Here is a link to some of our pictures on snapfish.
